Community Helpers Impacting People In Need

We work with local service groups, businesses and individuals to help students and families in the Batavia School District who are homeless or on free/reduced lunch and in need of support and help.

CHIP IN provides students and their families with clothing, food, high school/college assistance, supplies, activities, mentor programs, furniture, transportation, and gift cards and more- we work on each family on a 1-to-1 personal need basis.

Our Mission

To support students/families in BPS District 101 in temporary housing situations or who are on free/reduced lunch program.  To ensure that students who are facing financial obstacles have their needs met to be successful in school and to participate in the same programs/activities as all students.

Since March 2020, CHIP IN has helped with 140 rent and utility payments, plus food, clothing, transportation and other basic needs to keep families secure and safe. And anything requested for students to participate in activities and enjoy their school years to the fullest.

HOW WE HELP

Each Batavia District School has a point person with a CHIP IN Batavia representative assigned. Church groups,  Batavia Woman's Club, Batavia Mother's Club, businesses, and other groups and individuals aid the CHIP IN representative when needs arise.

CHIP IN supports pre-qualified children by providing snacks, school supplies, clothing, support/help to participate in school/community activities, transportation, basic necessities and so many other day-to-day needs and opportunities that allow them the opportunity to thrive and learn during the school year, while also preserving dignity and anonymity. We work on a case by case basis, helping students and their families with individualized needs. We work closely with school staff and administration, and other local service agencies.

CHIP IN Batavia is a restricted fund within the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence, a 501(c)3 organization.

100% of your donation is designated for students. CHIP IN is led and organized by all volunteers. Our only expense is one small administrative fee to the Batavia Foundation for their help and support each year.
